23 individuals have been injured following the brutal and destructive clashes that broke out between pro-government and peaceful protestors at MynaGoGama and GotaGoGama. While the Police were quick to disperse peaceful university protestors just days ago by using tear gas and water cannons, it seems that they chose not to intervene with such force against violent Rajapaksa supporters during today’s outbursts.

Protest politics must surpass its limits; Under GOTAGOHOME and GET RID of ALL 225 Slogan the people must mobilise from the so-called anti-Rajapaksa to a political organization to prevent the ruling class from playing with people’s power. Even though it is a challenge to maintain the organizational capacity of the people in the long run, there is no other way to defend the objectives of the current protests. That is the only way open for us to achieve real victories in the struggle.
The continuity of the popular struggle must be there for the validity and discussion of creating such organized power structures. It is urgent to decide the direction of the popular protest movements of the people. Finally, it is vital that scholars, artists, civil society activists, and leftists with a political vision attend popular struggle, brush shoulders, and make necessary criticism. It is when the youth elements, leftists and the general members of the protest movement have a purpose for continuing the struggle until making worthy changes, if not an actual final victory.

නිවසටවී තමන්ගේ මුතුන් මිත්තන් ගේ දරු හුරතල් බලමින් කාලය ගත කරන මුතුන් මිත්තන්ගේ පටන් තරුණ වයසේ පාසැල් සිසු සිසුවියන් දක්වා වූ මුළු ජන ඛාණ්ඩයම රූපවාහිනියෙන් මේ සංදර්ශන බලා සතුටු වන්නේ තරුණයින් රට පෙරලන්නට කරන තැත ගැන කතා බස් කරමින්ය. එක්කෝ උන්හට බැණ වදිමින්ය, එක්කෝ උන්හට ජයවේවායි පතමිනි.

අපි සියල්ලෝම මොහොතකට සිතා බැලිය යුතුය. වරද කාගේද? වැරැද්ද නිවැරදි කිරීමේ වගකීම අපි සියල්ලෝම සතුය.
